Agreement to Terms

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the Fallboys website located at fallboys.com (the “Site”), including all content, features, tools, and services offered on or through the Site. Fallboys is a Young Adult literary platform dedicated to emotionally complex boys in transition.
By accessing or using the Site, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree to all of these Terms, you must not access or use the Site. We reserve the right to update or modify these Terms at any time. Your continued use of the Site after any changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
If you are under the age of 13, you may not use this Site. If you are between the ages of 13 and 18, you may use the Site only with the involvement and consent of a parent or legal guardian who agrees to be bound by these Terms.
Terms of Use
Fallboys grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, and revocable license to access and use the Site for personal, non-commercial purposes. This license is subject to compliance with these Terms.
Permitted Uses
- Browsing and reading book archive entries, archetype descriptions, and editorial content.
- Using interactive tools such as the Fallboy Builder and Reflection Quiz for personal literary exploration.
- Submitting original creative writing through designated submission features, subject to applicable submission guidelines.
- Sharing links to Site pages through personal social media or communication channels with proper attribution.
- Using the Site as an educational resource in classroom, library, or mentorship settings.
Prohibited Uses
- Using the Site for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable local, state, national, or international law.
- Attempting to interfere with, compromise the system integrity or security of, or decipher any transmissions to or from the servers running the Site.
- Using automated systems, including bots, crawlers, or scrapers, to access the Site for any purpose without our express written permission.
- Impersonating any person or entity, or falsely stating or otherwise misrepresenting your affiliation with a person or entity.
- Using the Site to harass, bully, threaten, or intimidate any person, or to promote hatred or discrimination.
- Reproducing, distributing, or creating derivative works from Site content for commercial purposes without prior written authorization.
Intellectual Property
Our Content
The Site and its entire contents, features, and functionality — including but not limited to the Fallboys name, logo, archetype taxonomy (Falling in Love, Falling Apart, Falling Away, Falling Into Identity, Falling & Failing), editorial text, design elements, graphics, software, and code — are owned by Fallboys and are protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.
The Fallboys archetype system, emotional descent framework, and associated literary taxonomy are original creative works. No portion of this framework may be reproduced, adapted, or used for commercial purposes without express written consent.
Book Information
Book titles, cover images, author names, and publisher information referenced on the Site remain the intellectual property of their respective rights holders. Fallboys uses this information for editorial, educational, and literary commentary purposes under fair use principles. Our original editorial content — including archetype classifications, emotional intensity ratings, descent phase analyses, and curated descriptions — is proprietary to Fallboys.
User-Submitted Content
If you submit creative writing, character builds, quiz results, or other content to the Site (“User Content”), you retain ownership of your original work. However, by submitting User Content, you grant Fallboys a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to display, reproduce, and distribute your User Content on the Site and in connection with Fallboys’ promotional activities. You represent and warrant that you own or have the necessary rights to submit your User Content and that it does not infringe upon the rights of any third party.
Trademarks
The Fallboys name, logo, tagline (“Where boys fall — and rise differently”), and all related names, logos, product and service names, designs, and slogans are trademarks of Fallboys. You may not use such marks without our prior written permission. All other names, logos, product and service names, designs, and slogans on this Site are the trademarks of their respective owners.
User Conduct
Fallboys is a safe, inclusive literary space. All users are expected to uphold the following standards of conduct.
Community Standards
Fallboys is committed to fostering a safe, respectful, and emotionally supportive environment. By using the Site, you agree to conduct yourself in a manner consistent with our ethical framework and community values.
- Respect and dignity. Treat all community members, authors, and subjects of discussion with respect. Personal attacks, harassment, and derogatory language are not permitted.
- No harmful content. Do not post or submit content that glorifies self-harm, violence, substance abuse, or destructive behavior. Fallboys explores difficult themes through a lens of growth and understanding, never glorification.
- No toxic masculinity framing. Content or commentary that reinforces harmful stereotypes about masculinity, dismisses emotional vulnerability, or shames emotional expression is not welcome.
- Inclusive language. Fallboys is intentionally inclusive of queer, neurodivergent, and BIPOC communities. Discriminatory language or exclusionary behavior will not be tolerated.
- Honest participation. Do not submit plagiarized work, misrepresent your identity, or manipulate site features in deceptive ways.
- Age-appropriate engagement. Remember that this platform serves a young adult audience. All interactions and submissions should be appropriate for readers aged 13 and older.
Enforcement
Fallboys reserves the right to remove any User Content and to restrict or terminate access for any user who violates these conduct standards, at our sole discretion and without prior notice. We are not obligated to monitor all user activity but may do so to maintain the safety and integrity of the community.

The Site and all content, tools, features, and services provided on or through the Site are offered on an “as is” and “as available” basis, without any warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Fallboys disclaims all warranties, express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

In no event shall the total liability of Fallboys to you for all claims arising out of or relating to the use of the Site exceed the amount you have paid to Fallboys, if any, for accessing the Site during the twelve (12) months immediately preceding the date of the claim.

Governing Law & Dispute Resolution
Governing Law
These Terms and any disputes arising out of or related to these Terms or the Site shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the United States, without regard to conflict of law principles. You agree to submit to the personal and exclusive jurisdiction of the courts located within the United States for the resolution of any disputes.
Dispute Resolution
Before filing any formal legal claim, you agree to first attempt to resolve any dispute informally by contacting Fallboys. We will attempt to resolve the dispute informally within thirty (30) days. If the dispute is not resolved within that period, either party may then proceed with formal legal action as permitted by applicable law.
Severability
If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid by a court of competent jurisdiction, that provision shall be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary so that these Terms shall otherwise remain in full force and effect.
Entire Agreement
These Terms, together with any other legal notices or policies published by Fallboys on the Site, constitute the entire agreement between you and Fallboys concerning your use of the Site. These Terms supersede any prior agreements or understandings, whether written or oral, regarding the Site.
Waiver
The failure of Fallboys to enforce any right or provision of these Terms shall not constitute a waiver of such right or provision. Any waiver of any provision of these Terms will be effective only if in writing and signed by Fallboys.
